The Shropshire Primary Partnership (SPP) is a collaborative educational initiative aimed at enhancing primary education within Shropshire. It operates primarily through two key sites: St. Peter’s CE Primary School and Nursery in Wem and Woodfield Infant School in Shrewsbury. As a lead partner in the Shropshire and Telford Educational Partnership (STEP), SPP is instrumental in delivering high-quality professional development and initial teacher training (ITT) programs.

SPP offers a range of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses designed to support educators at all stages of their careers. These courses are tailored to improve teaching practices, leadership skills, and overall school performance. In collaboration with the University of Chester, SPP also provides a School Direct teacher training program, which includes a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This program emphasizes hands-on experience, with trainees spending significant time in local classrooms alongside experienced practitioners (Shropshire Primary Partnership) (Shropshire Primary Partnership).

Additionally, STEP, the designated Teaching School Hub for Shropshire and Telford, works closely with SPP to support teacher recruitment, retention, and professional development through initiatives like the Early Career Framework (ECF) and National Professional Qualifications (NPQ) for school leaders (Shropshire Primary Partnership).
