Emma Morris

Emma Morris

Emma was born and raised in South Wales, where her love of learning and her belief in the life‑changing power of education first began. Her early interest in English, combined with a growing passion for supporting wellbeing, inspired her to pursue a degree in English and Psychology at the University of Liverpool—an academic foundation that would later shape her deep commitment to education and child development.

After university, Emma began her career working for charitable organisations that supported the most vulnerable children. During this time, she achieved qualifications in counselling and gained Masters‑level credits in managing behaviour, strengthening her expertise in supporting children’s wellbeing. This early start to her career instilled in Emma a strong commitment to personal and professional growth and is why, as a leader, she prioritises wellbeing and inclusion.

Emma’s teaching career has taken her across Wolverhampton, Telford, and Shropshire. Many of the schools she has worked in served communities facing high levels of disadvantage, and it was within these settings that she developed a profound belief in the power of education to change life chances. Emma has a strong passion for providing high‑quality teaching and learning opportunities and has led the development of whole‑school strategies to enhance classroom provision. Her passion for English became a defining feature of her teaching, and she has successfully led Phonics, Reading, and Writing across several schools, helping to raise standards and foster a love of literacy in pupils.

Emma’s leadership journey has been both rich and varied. She has progressed through a series of significant roles including English Lead, Inclusion Lead, Assistant Headteacher, and Deputy Headteacher before taking up her current post as Headteacher at Market Drayton Infants and Nursery School. She has also completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), further strengthening her leadership expertise and deepening her commitment to creating nurturing, high‑performing school environments.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys unwinding with a good book, exploring the outdoors while walking her Golden Retriever, and spending quality time with her family. She is a proud mother of two children, who continue to inspire her dedication to education and wellbeing.
