
Emma Tibbitts joins Market Drayton Junior School as Headteacher, bringing over nine years of successful leadership experience from her previous headship in Tamworth. With a strong track record of school improvement and a recent successful Ofsted inspection, Emma is passionate about raising standards and unlocking potential in every child.
Emma is deeply committed to raising aspirations for disadvantaged pupils, particularly those eligible for pupil premium. She brings a personal understanding of the challenges some children face and a fierce determination to ensure they are given every opportunity to succeed in life.
Emma’s career spans a wide range of educational settings, including state and independent schools, as well as international teaching experience in Valencia. She has taught across primary and Key Stage 3, giving her a broad and inclusive perspective on education.
She is also a respected leader in professional development, having been Lead Literacy Teacher for Staffordshire Local Authority and having served as a Writing Moderator for the past eight years. Her work supports high standards in literacy and empowers teachers to deliver impactful learning.
Staff wellbeing is central to Emma’s leadership philosophy. She believes that a happy, supported team is the foundation of a thriving school and she works hard to foster a culture of care, collaboration and professional growth.
Outside of school, Emma enjoys spending time outdoors and has recently completed Trek26 in support of the Alzheimer’s Society. A keen singer, she performed as a soprano with the Ceramic City Choir, reflecting her love of the arts and community engagement.
Emma brings energy and empathy to Market Drayton Juniors and is excited to lead the school into its next chapter.
